Privacy Policy

Aqa Trade operates the website aqatrade.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you browse the site or place an order, why we hold it, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It applies to everything we do through the site.

1. What we collect

We collect three kinds of information, and no more than we need to run the shop:

• Contact details - your name, email address, telephone number, and your shipping and billing addresses.
• Order information - what you bought, your order history, and any correspondence you have with our support team.
• Device and usage data - IP address, browser type, device identifiers, the pages you viewed, the site you arrived from, and the times of those visits.

2. Payment details

Payments are handled by Shopify Payments in line with PCI-DSS requirements. We do not receive or store full card numbers or payment credentials on our servers; that data passes from your browser to the processor. What we see is confirmation that a payment succeeded or failed, and the last digits needed to identify a transaction.

3. Why we use it

• To take, fulfil and deliver your order, and to handle any return or refund arising from it.
• To contact you about that order and to answer support requests.
• To detect and prevent fraud and unauthorised transactions.
• To understand how the site is used and to improve it.
• To meet our legal and tax obligations.
• To send marketing messages - only if you have asked for them, and only until you tell us to stop.

4. Who else sees it

We share personal information with third-party providers only where it is needed to operate the business, and each of them receives only the data required for their task:

• Our e-commerce platform provider, which hosts the store and its order records.
• Our payment processor, to take and settle payments.
• Shipping carriers, to get the parcel to your address.
• Analytics providers, to measure how the site performs.

We may also disclose information where the law, a regulator or legal process requires it, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, property or safety, or those of another person. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone for marketing purposes.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

The site uses cookies and comparable technologies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences and measure traffic. Your browser settings control which cookies you accept, and you can clear or block them at any time. Be aware that turning off cookies will stop parts of the site - the cart and the checkout in particular - from working properly.

6. How long we keep it

We keep personal information for as long as it takes to fulfil your order, provide support, comply with tax and legal obligations, and settle any dispute. Once none of those apply, the data is deleted or anonymised.

7. Security

We apply administrative, technical and physical safeguards to the information we hold, and traffic between your browser and our servers is protected with SSL/TLS encryption. No system connected to the internet can be guaranteed absolutely secure, and we do not claim otherwise; what we can say is that we limit what we collect, limit who can reach it, and do not keep it longer than we need.

8. Your choices and your rights

You may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct anything inaccurate, or to delete it. You may unsubscribe from marketing at any time, either through the link in the message or by writing to us. To exercise any of these, email support@aqatrade.com from the address used on the order, so we can be confident we are talking to you.

9. California residents (CCPA)

If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you further rights:

• Right to know - the categories and the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
• Right to delete - to have that information erased, subject to the legal exceptions that let us keep records of a completed sale.
• Right to opt out - we do not sell personal information. Should that ever change, we will publish a plain opt-out before it does.
• Right to non-discrimination - exercising any of these rights will never cost you a worse price or a worse service.

10. Children

The site is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years of age, in line with COPPA. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy from time to time. The revised version is posted on this page with a new effective date, and it applies from the date shown. It is worth re-reading it occasionally if you order from us regularly.
