A bottle brush with a 10 inch handle, long enough to reach the base of a tall flask without forcing your knuckles through the neck.
The bristles are soft silicone rather than nylon: firm enough to lift residue off the bottom and the shoulder of a bottle, soft enough to leave glass and a coated steel interior unmarked. Silicone also rinses clear in seconds and does not take on smells the way a foam head does after a fortnight.
The handle is shaped for grip when your hands are wet and soapy, and it flexes just enough to follow the curve inside a carafe. Use it on water bottles, tumblers, vases, flasks and any narrow-necked container a sponge cannot get into.
